The aim is to eliminate a cancer, a benign tumour (most frequent pleomorphic adenoma), remove a calculus by sialendoscopy, treat a stenosis by sialendoscopy, reduce the number of cases of juvenile recurrent parotitis, stop salivary hernias, salivary colic, sub maxillitis, parotitis.
They concern both adults and children.

Below is a summary of the salivary gland surgery performed by Dr Antoine Delagranda, ENT surgeon at La Roche-sur-Yon in the Vendée. Please click to see the detailed page for each operation.

Parotidectomy

Parotidectomy is a surgical procedure involving the removal of a salivary gland called the parotid gland. The operation is performed under general anaesthetic by an ENT surgeon, and requires hospitalisation for 2 to 3 days. It is suitable for both adults and children.

Sub maxillectomy

Submaxillectomy is a surgical procedure involving the removal of a salivary gland called the submaxillary gland. The operation is performed under general anaesthetic by an ENT surgeon, and requires hospitalisation for 2 to 3 days. It is suitable for both adults and children.

Sialendoscopy

Sialendoscopy is a recent minimally invasive interventional technique that enables the diagnosis and treatment of salivary gland pathologies during the same operation using endoscopy of the salivary ducts. It is particularly effective in treating obstructive disorders of the salivary excretory ducts of the parotid and sub-maxillary glands, such as stenosis and calculi (lithiasis). It can be used in adults of all ages and in children aged 3 and over.
